Along with NYC Design Week 2022’s exhibits come retail premiere events, and other parties. We did attend a few, to see what was new and cool around town.

PROPERTY’s collections are known for their discovery of new artists from around the world, and showcase designs that utilize classic craft/artisanal techniques with cutting-edge technology. Proprietors Sabrina Schilcher and Ondine Harris have collaborated with prominent architects and interior designers on high-end residential projects, and hotel and store renovations, and are usually ahead of the curve. We attended the opening of their Tribeca showroom and loved what we saw. Scroll down to see the many wonderful lighting and furniture possibilities. (including the photo at the top of this post) So much to see and admire! The new showroom is located at 401 Broadway, a block below Canal St on Walker.

The Go-Go Age Collection was debuted on the Public Hotel Rooftop with models sitting in the center of the room on the colorful chairs. It was hard to know what to look at! (which includes fashion of the attendees) “GO-GO AGE” by designer Kouros Maghsoudi revisits the 1960’s Space Age with an array of colors, distilled shapes, and silhouettes. (see below)

Though we did not see this in person, I loved the design. Moooi’s New York Store hosts a pop-up installation by Crosby Studios. Harry Nuriev, Crosby Studios founder, artist, architect, and designer, was given complete freedom to design a Moooi environment. Inspired by the pixelated aesthetic of early video games, the installation will have you mesmerized. Moooi Through the Eyes of Crosby Studios will be visible from May 13 at 36 East 31st Street, New York. (see below)
