A cool new spot has opened up on the corner of 23rd and Lex. The Freehand Hotel is attracting a smart crowd to its mulitfaceted dining venues.
Lots of spots for lounging, imbibing and dining await you at this new, hip hotel. There’s also a roof for those seeking sunshine with their drinking. Here’s the rundown:
Simon and The Whale From restauranteur Gabriel Stulman and Chef Matt Griffin (Fedora and Bar Sardine) is a large American with wrap-around windows, and a lively scene.
Studio On the second floor is an all-day cafe concept where you can get a healthy breakfast and nice pastries. At night the menu switches to flavors of North Africa and the Near East.
George Washington Bar A swell and handsome room outfitted in wood paneling with comfy couches serves bespoke and classic cocktails. (See my post, which included two spicy tequila cocktail recipes.)
Broken Shaker, on the roof, offers an eclectic menu of handcrafted cocktails and fresh bites.
So far have only had drinks here, planning to dine soon, so stay tuned for photos of that!
