These holiday cocktails will bring cheer and warmth to the celebration. Think about sending the ingredients to those you cannot be with, so you can share a New Years Eve toast via Zoom and get comfortable.

Mexican Hot Chocolate

Partida Anejo adds a richness to the spicy mix (seen in the photo at the top of this post).

6 oz hot chocolate
pinch ground cinnamon
.5 tsp chili powder
dash salt

2 oz Partida Añejo
honey

Use your desired method to create hot chocolate. Add cinnamon, chili powder and salt. Transfer spiced hot chocolate to a heated glass, top with 2 oz Partida Añejo, honey to taste, and stir.   

The Spice Market

A completely untraditional gin cocktail with Winter flavors.

Make the Spice Syrup:

1 CUP sugar
4 black peppercorns
2 whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1 star anise
zest from 1/2 orange

Bring ingredients to a boil in a small saucepan. Reduce heat, simmer 5 min. Allow to cool completely. Strain through a fine sieve into a bottle or jar. Store covered in refrigerator for up to a month.

Make the cocktail:

1 oz Vanilla Chai tea
1 oz Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin
.5 oz Apricot Liqueur
1 bar spoon Orgeat Syrup
1 bar spoon Spice Syrup

Fill a shaker with ice and add all the ingredients. Shake really well until the shaker is icy.Double strain into a highball and garnish with a hollowed-out passionfruit.

Diplo Toddy

Citrus flavors mix nicely with this rum.

1.5 oz Diplomático Mantuano
1 oz fresh orange juice
.5 oz fresh lemon juice
.5 oz honey syrup

Add all ingredients directly to Toddy glass or a mug. Top up with hot water. Garnish with cinnamon sticks.

1930 Spritz

1 oz Ron Barcelo Platinum
2 oz prosecco or sparkling wine
1 oz pomegranate juice

garnish: fresh pomegranate seeds

Serve all ingredients in champagne flute. Garnish with pomegranate seeds.

Mama Juana

Makes 4 servings

4 oz Ron Barcelo Imperial
12 oz red wine
.75 CUP orange juice
.5 CUP apple cider
.5 CUP honey crisp apples, diced
1 lime, sliced
1 orange, sliced

Combine all ingredients over ice in a pitcher.

Aged Negroni

2 oz Ron Barcelo Imperial
1 oz Antica Formula
1 oz Campari

Pour ingredients over ice, stir and garnish with orange peel.

Canelazo

2 oz Ron Barcelo Imperial
1 oz Rum Chata
1 oz Baileys Pumpkin Spiced

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice, strain into a couple glass.
