Many look forward to Cinco de Mayo due to the fact that mixology has taken a precedence in this well known celebration. Add some tasty and thirst quenching cocktails to your menu by incorporating Hobnob’s top four Cinco de Mayo Cocktails that’ll have you celebrating with a bang—and maybe a bit of spice.

It’s Your Lucky Day

Sin City’s one and only Lucky Day Tequila & Mezcal House is ready to spice up any Cinco de Mayo celebration with an Escorpion cocktail. Tequila infusion, cherries, and bitters will make you say OLE! (see photo at the top of this post) Lucky Day is a wonderland of rare mezcals, small-batch tequilas and signature cocktails with a light show that dazzles.

Escorpion Cocktail

3 dashes sassafras bitters
Hot chili, for garnish

Combine all ingredients and stir. Strain over a large ice cube in a cocktail glass.

Cinco de Mayo Drinks3 Mexigin

A Gin Like No Other

Gin lovers, take note. Mexigin combines a plethora of smooth notes and savory all-natural spices with the perfect amount of juniper and an elevated heat on the back end. Intrigued? Give it a shot in the Call to Post cocktail, based on a Mojito. Expect a spicy kick!

Call to Post

4 lemon wedges
mint leaves
crushed ice
2 oz Mexigin
1 oz simple syrup
club soda

Muddle the lemon and mint in the bottom of the glass. Fill with crushed ice and pour other ingredients over ice. Stir to lift fruit and top with club soda following with a mint leaf garnish.

Cinco de Mayo Drinks2 cocktail syrups

Hot, Hot, Hot

Bring some character and heat to your Cinco de Mayo cocktails by incorporating Nickel Dime’s Caged Heat Cocktail Syrup. Desert Heat contains hints of the alluring tamarind, warming cardamom, and the spiciest of peppers—the ghost pepper—so get ready to be wowed. This was the first in the collection of cocktail syrups by Jared Hirsch, a mixologist from Oakland’s Sidebar, whose cocktail proved to be so popular, he had to bottle it. Other flavors: Fairy Dust, Cherry Bomb, and Crimson Smoke will cover all your needs on your home bar.

Desert Heat

1.5 oz tequila blanco
.5 oz mezcal
1 oz Caged Heat cocktail syrup
1 oz fresh squeezed lime juice

Mix all ingredients in a shake over ice. Pour into a glass.

Cinco de Mayo Drinks4 Fevertree Lime & Yuzu

Gimme Fever

For those who prefer lighter libations, have a refreshing Cinco de Mayo by making a Fever-Tree Lime & Yuzu Spritz. This tonic water incorporates Tahitian limes from Mexico and hand-picked yuzus from Japan. Add it to vodka—or perhaps a fine tequila or mezcal to help celebrate the day.

Lime & Yuzu Spritz

1 part Grey Goose Vodka (or tequila/mezcal)
3 parts Fever-Tree Sparkling Lime & Yuzu

Add vodka to a highball glass, following with ice and Fever-Tree Sparkling Lime & Yuzu. Garnish with a lime slice for the finishing touch.
