The Bronx Botanical Gardens holidays extravaganza happens every year. The Annual Train Show is just part of the mix of events and performances—like fiery hoola hoop dancers, ice carvers, and decorations to marvel at. See Hobnob’s photos from a recent visit.
Who To Take: The friend who is inspired by gorgeous plants or the person who desperately needs to get out of the city
Just because it’s Winter is no reason for the Bronx Botanical Gardens to not put on a show. Their annual toy train show is appealing to children and adults alike with its extensive mini reproductions of familiar NYC architecture, set amidst greenery—with toy trains running through it. Completely made of bark, leaves, and twigs, you will have fun naming all the landmarks familiar to all New Yorkers.
Bar Car Nights are designed exclusively for adult pastimes and include a complimentary cocktail while strolling through the Haupt Conservatory or the grounds which will host live music acts, ice sculptors extraordinaire, and fire dancers. There’s a spot for dining too, if the walking fuels an appetite, at The Pine Tree Cafe. All Garden Pass Tickets are $20 during the week, $30 on weekends.
