For those who love a smoky spirit, take note. Rosa Mexicano is offering a single-barrel Mezcal that has been aged 2 years and 4.5 months, for a total of 857 days. This is a high-end sipping mezcal with so much complexity, that they choose not to prepare it in a cocktail. It’s a unique limited edition aged in Belle Meade Bourbon barrels from Greenbrier Distillery in Nashville. Rosa Mexicano’s Master Mezcalier Courtenay Greenleaf produced only 222 bottles—so head over before it’s too late.
Rosa Mexicano’s Private Label Mezcal will be available starting Feb. 1 at ten locations: In New York City: 1063 First Ave (at 58th St); near Lincoln Center, 61 Columbus Ave (at 62nd St); near Union Square, 9 East 18th St (betw Broadway/Fifth Ave); and in Tribeca, 41 Murray St. (betw w Broadway/Church St). Also in New Jersey, Boston, Washington, DC, National Harbor, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
In case you’ve never been, Rosa Mexicano opened in New York in 1984, and at that time changed America’s perception of Mexican dining. They have received the highest culinary award from the Mexican Government for defining and promoting haute Mexican cuisine in the U.S. Their award-winning dishes stay true to traditional Mexican roots while incorporating regional accents.
