A favorite New York shop, Murray’s Cheese now offers much more than cheese. Their new space has almost everything a foodie could desire, including decadent grilled cheese sandwiches to go.
Perfect for: Grabbing ingredients for your dinner party or taking a class with fellow cheese lover
A New York City legend on Bleecker Street that always offered an amazing selection of cheese and friendly service has expanded into a mega foodie playground just across from its original location. Now, in addition to offering a mind-boggling selection of cheeses, Murray’s showcases their in-house cheese cave, where you can witness cheeses aging to perfection.
They’ve got a market with all the pantry goodies you could ever need, a bulging charcuterie section, a take-out area featuring decadent grilled cheese sandwiches and more, and space upstairs for eating your purchases or attending an event or class. I attended the opening and did sample the take-out samples (heaven). Thanks, Murray’s!—for becoming even more than you were, which was already one of NYC’s time-trusted foodie staples.
MURRAY’S CHEESE, 254 Bleecker St (btw 6th/7th Aves); they also have a satellite location inside Grand Central Station in the Market located off Lexington Ave and 43rd, perfect for those headed out of the city and with the need to bring a last-minute foodie gift or pick up stuff for dinner.
