Barbie Penthouse showcases an incredible renovation of the former home of “real-life Barbie” Barbara Handler, the daughter of Mattel founder John Handler by interior designer Nicole Sassaman.
The original figure of all things mini, Barbie, ties into our party theme in this gorgeous penthouse makeover. We chose this book to be included as part of the plan for hosting a party with all things mini. (see the recipes here).
Sassaman has given the space a kitchen to die for—with ultra-luxe finishes and top-of-the-line appliances. TopBrewer, a fully integrated coffee brewing system stands at the ready for a quick shot of Joe. The spectacular La Cornue stove, flanked by stainless steel cabinetry, makes it a showpiece at one end of the kitchen. The space maximizes the high ceilings with tons of storage, and an elegant ladder that slides back and forth for easy access to those remote areas. A sit-down bar makes socializing-while-cooking a breeze and the penthouse views naturally add to the total effect.
A glass of wine, anyone? Instead of hiding the wine cellar away in a basement, Sassaman incorated and showcased it into the main living area. This gorgeous floor-to-ceiling glass stunner lights up like a jewel box and divides the entryway and living room. See more of this amazing renovation in the book. Full of luxurious elegance, style, and grace, Sassaman’s Barbie Penthouse has truly taken the iconic Barbie Dream House into the 21st century. Barbie Penthouse
